I apologize for missing out on last week’s newsletter. I was a bit under the weather.

I am big on finding content on the Internet that pique my interest and curiosity. Usually, this leads me down a rabbit hole of coffee-fueled research, especially on Sundays.

Hope you get as much kick out of your Sunday as I do, by reading about them.

Here are things I thought were interesting, or found useful.

Kubernetes: The Documentary [PART 1] - YouTube

Kubernetes has become the OS of the cloud. This documentary was fascinating as it gave insights into how it came to be. It also showcases power of good open source software. They become popular, ubiquitous and then the collective knowledge and skills of the industry rises.

Why we at $FAMOUS_COMPANY Switched to $HYPED_TECHNOLOGY

A humorous take on most company’s blog posts, which do not really give much information, but then is mostly about PR campaigns to attract good engineering talent.

emilybache/GildedRose-Refactoring-Kata: Starting code for the GildedRose Refactoring Kata in many programming languages.

I love coding katas, especially ones that will mimic a real-life scenario. The lessons learned by just doing these katas are immense. I recommend doing this as a pair-programming exercise, with a partner to bounce ideas with.

This is an incredible shot by Julian Rad : natureporn

I love photography. This one has excellent timing, beautiful reflections, and a cute squirrel.

How to communicate effectively as a leader | by Joseph Gefroh | Medium

Leaders repeat the message a lot. They repeat it until it becomes irritating to themselves, but then that is the key. Here is , Jeff Weiner, a leadership idol of mine, talking about this.

Why is it so important for you to repeat yourself? People see the world through their own lens right? You’re speaking, you’re saying something repeatedly. You kind of get sick of hearing yourself say it. What’s that audience member doing while you’re speaking? Daydreaming, on their phone, thinking about what they’re going to have for dinner that night. I mean, right? Everyone’s got tons of stuff going on. That’s why you have to repeat yourself over and over and over again.
