About me

[Vikram Mandyam] / 2021-10-22

Hi! I’m Vikram. I have spent all of my professional life as a software developer & an architect. I get a kick out of designing and implementing cloud native scalable systems. My programming language toolkit includes Java, C#, C++, Ruby on Rails, Python, Common Lisp and Emacs Lisp.

I love tinkering my Emacs configuration and use Emacs for almost everything in my life, including writing on this blog.

I dabble in photography and have even been seen lying prostrate and contorting to get a good shot, according to the rumor mills.

I used to be something of a gym rat (now I merely lift the occasional weight or two). Nevertheless, By writing about fitness here, I do hope to rekindle the fitness bug in me.

I am a maniacal reader and enjoy reading anything related to software, philosophy, and action thrillers.

I am a productivity nut, who has “eats the frog” using the “GTD” and “time-blocking” method with help of my “pomodoro timer”. What I am trying to say is, I have tried all the productivity tips in the world and finally settled down with a good mix of what works for me - and I use just Emacs and Org mode for setting this up.
